Announcements

  • Guests at the meeting were Tex's wife, Nancy and Jeff Piercy's son-in-law.
  • Tom B. shared with the Club information aboutrecent deaths in Yong's family. She lost her sister and brother-in-law in an automobile crash in South Korea. Our thoughts and prayers are with her. Paul gave an update on our Literacy project at Sandburg Elementary. The principal will attend a future meeting to finalize the details.
  • Mark G. gave final info on the coat drive that he is spearheading.Members had already brought a pile of donations for him to deliver on 11/18.
  • Tom B. said that 55 people have committed to the Holiday Party scheduled between 6:30 and 10:30 p.m. on December 10. Final commitments are needed by 11/29. The cost for non-members will be $30.
  • Marcos asked members to continue bringing donations for the Holiday project at the Denver Children's Home. Items can be brought to Tuesday meetings and/or the Holiday party on 12/10.
  • Greg reminded members that our Club outing to see "Beauty and the Beast" at the Country Dinner Playhouse isSaturday, 11/19.
  • Tom B. passed around a card as Jack Rafferty's wife recently underwent back surgery.
  • The membership committee, headed by Mark Gale,will meet Monday, 11/21 at the Embassy Suites.
  • Our program today was offered by staff from Centennial Airport. Lori, Dave and Nick, (Operations, Security and Noise Management personnel) gave an excellent presentation, both video and dissertation on the rescue efforts after Hurricane Katrina. The report was centered around Louis Armstrong International Airport, where the "team" was based in a trailer.

 

Marbles

Barbara Medina had the winning raffle ticket and bless her soul, drew the WHITE MARBLE. The pot should be more than $500 next week.
