Greeter--Kye
Custodian--Paul
Pledge--Hank
Invocation--Barbara
Notetaker--Bryan
President Roxy rang the bell at 7:34 a.m.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
- Kent introduced visitors. We had one, former member Jim Brown. We hope Jim's schedule allows him to return to the Club next year.
- Kent's Rotary minute contained information about the Foundation's Group Study Exchange. Our visiting teams this Rotary year include one from Finland and maybe Astonia. GSE teams consist of 5 young adults of varying occupations (non-Rotarians) led by a Rotarian. They normally visit for 4-6 weeks.
- Dan H. pitched the Foundation Dinner, featuring our R.I. president. We have one table filled for the January 20th event and want commitments to fill two more by next week. The location is the Sheraton Four Points at Hampden and I-25.
- Tom and Randy discussed this Saturday's holiday party at Heritage Eagle Bend. Randy started selling raffle tickets for the gorgeous diamond necklace donated by Yong and Ben Bridge Jewelers. Each member may purchase two tickets, priced at $10. Monies raised will go to our Foundation, a 501C3 charity. Tom said the room will open at 6:30 and Frank Loner will run the auction of the "traveling" gifts collected thus far.
- Mark G. asked us all to remember, "Think Membership!"
- Saturday at the party is the deadline for donating Christmas gifts for the Denver Children's Home.
- Paul told us that 8-10 people are working with students at Sandburg Elementary for our literacy project. We need more, please contact Paul. Any time helps!
- Wednesday 12/7 is the board meeting at Pete's bank.
- Kay announced that there will be one more sorting at the old location for Project Cure. She will distribute maps to the new location later this month.
- Kay also has taken over the task of obtaining and scheduling weekly programs. Bryan did this for quite awhile. WELL DONE BRYAN!! Please help Kay with any ideas.
- December 15 is Hugh's birthday (or is that hatching?) Jeff's birthday is December 16 and the Rafferty's anniversary is on December 27th.
HAPPY BUCKS:
- Randy just because.
- Jennifer gave $10 because the firm she administrates hit $1 million this year.
- Dan gave to thank Greg for his assistance in showing the Highlands Ranch Club how our "State of the City" event runs.
- Paul gave a buck to celebrate Saturday night when he and his family heard the Colorado Choir, with Greg and his wife, in their holiday concert.
PROGRAM:
Jeanie Stokes, V.P. of SOFA (the Society for Financial Awareness), a non-profit educational organization.
The members are volunteers that pay dues. The membership includes; Financial Advisors, Bankers, CPA's, Attorneys, Realtors and Mortgage Brokers.
The group provides financial information to as many firms and people as possible. The tackle subjects like; how to buy a home, college and retirement planning, investment knowledge and other subjects.
The offer unbiased generic informational seminars and have worked with over 300 organizations.
As one of the leading causes of divorce is financial stability, these seminars can provide higher productivity because of happier employees.
They can setup seminars in as soon as a month and are working on more language diversity in their handouts and seminars.
MARBLES:
Hank had the winning ticket and thankfully drew a clear marble. The pot is close to $600 and the odds are 49-1. This is getting fun!!
Many thanks to Bryan for great notetaking.
