Announcements

  • Guests were Cliff and Paul from the Optimists and fellow Santas.
  • Rotary Minute from Kent reminded us that this is still Rotary Awareness Month.
  • Kye received her Blue badge.
  • Cliff presented both Roxy and Dan H. plaques for work with the Denver Children's Home Christmas project.
  • Roxy announced that Bob Slyter has arranged for Home Depot to donated paint for a project at DCH and is trying for other location's donations as well. The plan is to involve other Clubs as well. March will be the month for the project.
  • Littleton Sunrise Club's Job Fair was announced again and Roxy had information on the tables.
  • Barb gave us more details on the upcoming GSE team's visit to our District. Highlands Ranch is going dark the week of May 2 to join us. The Parker club has never gone "dark?" and only interested members may join us for the GSE team's program.
  • Randy reintroduced the "pigs" for the Foundation's ongoing fundraiser. Fill the pig and possibly win one of two gift certs found by Pete and donated by Outback. Randy also announced that he had delivered the 50 books to the North Las Vegas club and that they had found them great. He showed us one of them and promised the Centennial books by mid-February.
  • Frank brought back two travel gifts from Hawaii and Randy one from Las Vegas. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THIS IS AN ONGOING PROGRAM AND WE RELISH SEEING CREATIVE GIFTS EACH TIME YOU LEAVE US!
  • Roxy reminded us that Paul Meadows will be our speaker next week, bring your used and discarded laptops. The following week, 2/14 the program will be the folks from Nepal that climbed Everest.
  • Project Cure sorting will be 2/1. Look for Dan's HUGE silver Mercedes when searching for the new location.
  • Please seriously consider District Conference to help celebrate Roxy's year of leadership. Flyers on the tables each week.
  • Greg C. will be holding the first meeting with the committee of the State of the City function at his office on 2/2.
  • Tom B. passed out maps to his house for March 24th's fellowship function. Tom will be out of town 3/5-3/16, so please RSVP to him soon. Maps will be available each week.

Our Program

Our scheduled program was a no-show, so Roxy stepped up to the plate with a craft talk. By this time, the pharmaceuticals that our notetaker must have ingested have kicked in and the notes weren't too detailed. Roxy went through her birth, strange tails about Wyatt Earp told by her father, moving to Ft. Collins and her father joining Rotary. He told Roxy that he would propose her, even though women weren't "allowed" yet. Thankfully, she joined our club as a charter member.

Marbles

Frank L. had his ticket drawn and was cheered when he pulled the clear one. Thanks to Barb for stepping up and selling tickets in Paul's absence.
