Visiting Rotarians and Rotary Minute --Kent

1 visitor, Tresa Smith from Barb’s office.

Kent also volunteered to take over Nicole’s secretary duties until she is able to get back to us.

Announcements

  • MarcG.reminded us that the Holiday party is Dec. 12.
  • Attendance’s miserable. Pete is getting great programs and we need to support his efforts by filling more than two tables. Ken Hope is worried that our next meeting place will be in the kitchen.

No time for Happy Bucks-

Hugh was visibly distraught, since he had a couple of unspoken for bucks burning in his pocket. (Yeah right!)

Program

Charlotte Harris and Elaine Reeves from League of Women Voters of Colorado

They promoted informed participation in government, by providing non-partisan educational information on topics of public concern and on the processes of government. They gave an informative presentation of the upcoming issues on the ballot this election day, November 7.

Marbles--??

Notetakers plea--

--March to the Top of the World with the 83 Penny Regiment--

All of us should know about the goal of our District 5450. The goal this year, under the banner of District Governor Dr. Frank Sargent is a most ambitious attempt to raise $1,000,000 for the Rotary Foundation. That is $300 each as members of our respective Clubs or 83 cents a day for the 3,145 members in District 5450. Thanks to Barb for being one of the first by stepping forward and pledging her $3000. There are many in our Club that are within this contribution range to complete a Paul Harris Fellow or your second or third. If possible, think about making this contribution this Rotary year (ending 6/30/07) The passion and connection to Rotary and moreover to the Rotary Foundation is the underlying force and commitment we as individuals can accomplish by our contributions. Can you imagine…a world where peace flourishes? A world filled with the new ideas free fromhunger and where disease is defeated withmutual respect among all faiths, races and cultures.
