Our ProgramFirst Speaker Andrea Peters from the American Cancer Society. She brought a volunteer, Sara Paulley to assist. She shared with us details about this year’s "Relay for Life," to be held at Regis HS on June 8-9. The first lap will be taken by cancer survivors and then they will be treated to a dinner along with their caregivers. The teams then have at least one member on the track until 8 a.m. the next day. It one of ACS’s largest fundraiser and Andrea invited us to get a team together. There will be a Hollywood theme this year. At 9 p.m. there will be a luminaries ceremony remembering those who lost their fight. Information was passed out to all members. Main Speaker Frank Loner gave a classification talk. Much of his talk was given after advise from Mark Gale. (Wonder why he was consulting with him!) He is from Albuquerque, has a wife and two adult kids. Their son is in his probationary period as a firefighter in California and their daughter is a manager at Old Chicago at Arapahoe Crossing. He spoke on the subject of Umbrella Policies. Some highlights are being able to tie all you policies under one umbrella and gain much needed extra coverage for home-based businesses, auto and home. If you have an auto accident, the policy may help with coverage if it is with an un-insured driver. It may cover if you are in an accident if you cause it. It may assist with medical payments when hospitals want money up-front after accidents. With homeowners, they may assist in covering for a total loss while regular insurance won’t pay entire amount. Sometimes the cost for these policies is less than $20 per year. If you have any questions, please contact Frank. Last speaker Randy Pote gave his classification. He asked Jeff to stop taking notes and just enjoy the talk. Randy talked about his life in three categories, personal, Rotary and business. It was very interesting. Sorry if you didn’t get the chance to hear it. MarblesLaurie had her ticket drawn, pulled out a clear (YEA!!) with a 1-23 chance. Next week the pot should be over $1000.
