Laurie passed around information regarding a new Club in our District. We will give them lanyards as a gift.

Barb passed around the sign-up sheet for the 6/23 Changing of the Guard that she is hosting. She will provide the meat and all the rest of us bring a dish.

There will be a joint Board meeting tomorrow at Jennifer’s office. There will probably be something to imbibe there. Just guessing.

WE WILL BE DARK NEXT WEEK FOR THE "WILD ON LITTLETON" FUNCTION!!

Happy Bucks

  • Randy lead it off with a buck for today’s speaker.
  • Tom B. gave a dollar for the 3 visitors.
  • Paul coughed a couple for scooting.
  • Roxy was a dollar happy that her daughter’s knee surgery went well and she is KNOW a good patient. Something about Pollyanna.
  • Barb was monetarily please that she got to baby-sit her youngest grandkids last weekend.
  • Pete in celebration for no more weeks at Jackson Reservoir and he can use it now.

Program

Kathleen A. Negri, an attorney with expertise in Elder Law.

She is helping Randy’s family deal with his Mom’s Alzheimer’s and the ensuing problems.

She led us through all the aspects of Elder Law, from wills, power of attorneys, Do Not Resuscitate and Medicaid legibility.

We found out that Power of Attorneys die with the person and also are "licenses to steal" for unscrupulous people.

She shared how dealing with elders, especially those that have some sort of Dementia, can be on families. Very few families she has worked with get along well enough to not have very thorough legal documents.

She spoke for 40 minutes and handled questions.

She had several of her books on Alzheimer’s and sold them both.

You can go to www.naela.org for attorney referrals. All fees should be disclosed up front before you retain one. She allows families to screen her via phone before they see her if they wish.

As Randy’s personal aside, Kathleen has been extremely helpful to his family.

Marbles

Roxy’s ticket was drawn and she drew CLEAR. After next week’s dark meeting, the pot on 6/19 will start at $1058 with 1-15 odds.
