Program

Lori Williamson with Christian Living Center gave a most informative talk about options of care when we all get old.

Her emphasis was on a fairly new option called, "Adult Day Care".  The Center opened this branch in March 2007, and it provides structured environment and activities between 7:30am to 5:30pm, which offers the care-givers a much needed break from the demands that are put upon them.  The object is to provide the "participants" with a day of dignity that includes activities, friends, and sharing meals.

Our society seems to focus on the young, but we hope that we also consider the needs at the latter part of life.  She offered some tips on the search for different levels of care that may be needed someday:  start researching now; look at the facility’s security; what activities do you see the participants doing; look for dangers in the immediate invironment; check out the quality and fellowship at the meals; review the staff policies and procedures to handle the day-to-day, as well as emergency, needs.

Marbles

Jennifer had the winning "blue-marble" drawing ticket (value up to about $450.) - but she had clear sailing!!  Too bad ...

Meeting adjourned at 8:25am
