Rotary Minute--Kent spoke about the GSE program. This year’s team comes in from Germany in April and we will again share the hosting with the HR Club. The District is still looking for an outgoing team to New Zealand.

PDG Frank shared information about an upcoming 4-Way Test Adult/Student seminar that will be held with the Cherry Creek School District. He asked for volunteers and passed around a sign-up sheet.

Laurie will be chairing the first meeting for the State of Our City committee at noon on 1/30/08 at Cottrell’s. Please let Greg know if you are attending so you will have food.

Barb had up-to-date Foundation financials on each table that reflected last year’s SOOC event. We profited approx. $13,000.

Jenn asked members to circle the SOOC date, April 17, on their calendar. Attendance is "mandatory!?" Please be there.

Mary Kay asked us to support the upcoming RI President dinner and thanked us for already purchasing two tables. The next morning is a free Foundation seminar.

Dan R. asked members if they were having any problems with accessing the website. Roxy is maintaining a relationship with Hima and is the person to ask if you need help.

Happy Bucks

Marc G. asked what three Presidents were Rotarians? No one answered correctly. Answers: Wilson, Harding and JFK.

  • Dan R. gave a buck as he explained why he was late. He went into a brief explanation about the interest rate drop and the stock market.
  • Laurie gave $2, one for Mary Kay and PDG Frank’s visit and for scooting.
  • A $1 from Hank for the same reason.
  • $2 from Pres. Jenn for ditto.
  • $2 from Randy for ditto and Happy Rotary Tuesday.

Not many Happy Rotarians!! (bummer)

Missing Rotarians

Among those missing were both Jeffs, Paul, Kye, Dan H. and Frank. We want and need you all back!!!

Program

Val Purser from the Arapahoe County Community Resource Board and a volunteer, Beverly Head.

Together they shared the many different things the County offers. The annual budget for the Resource Board is $25 million.

There are six different divisions and many can be helped by the variety of services.

Arapahoe County is the largest in Colorado and they asked us to consider applying for the Community Development Grants.

They also asked for teen leaders in the 80110, 80111 and 80112 zip code areas.

Marbles

Charlie had his ticket drawn. With the odds 1 in 53 and the pot at $633, he took home $10 as he drew a clear one.
