Announcements

Randy passed out info regarding Friday’s R.I. President Foundation dinner. He had extra pigs and shared with newer members the "loose change" program. He also reminded others that the program is ongoing and to save their change for Rotary.

Ken Hope passed around the sign up sheet for this year’s Winter Park Ski Train outing. It is scheduled for March 2nd and Ken will need commitments and money in the next several weeks.

Jennifer announced that Kye has resigned and hopes to be back in a year. Jeff Hancock has been transferred to a bank up north and will join a Club up there. Rick M. is also leaving the Club, but only for a three month leave due to business projects.

There will be a Board meeting at Greg’s on Thursday, February 7th. All are welcome.

Laurie reminded us that April 17th is the State of our City luncheon. All members are ENCOURAGED to be present to assist with this project, our largest service project and fundraiser.

Happy Bucks

  • Marc had his weekly Presidential question and money collecting session.
  • Ken H. for having Victor Moss (our speaker) at meeting.
  • "Crip" had several bucks, one for being gone and the other for "missing?" Randy?
  • Paul H. had 2, one for scooting and the other for having the flu last week.
  • Greg for being another year older and for enjoying the youth at the X Games in Aspen last week.
  • Dan R. for undisclosed reason.
  • Randy gave $2, one for having "Zing" back in the Club and the other to help pay Dr. H’s phone bill.
  • Bryan coughed up some cash for his recent trip to Honduras with his family and alma mater and the watershed project they worked on.

Program

Victor Moss, attorney and author was our speaker.

He has written a book about his parents experience during World War II. He has been approached by several producers in Hollywood. All but one have dropped out, but that one promises she has the money and will move ahead once the writer’s strike is over.

He told some wonderful stories (too bad for you that weren’t there) and sold many members copies of his book at a reduced rate.

Marbles

Ken Hope had his ticket drawn by our speaker. That seemed suspicious, after all, they are both attorneys. He drew a clear one!!
